How To Make a Dining Corner Look Fab!
NYC living means one thing when it comes to personal space - NOT MUCH! I've learned over the past 6 years that it's all about using your space wisely. Luckily I'm a very organized VIRGO that needs things to have order, which in return makes me feel great about coming home.
My current dining "area" is still a work in progress as I need to find a rug and change the table decor, but for now with my busy schedule I love the simplicity. At first I almost did not bring this table with me to this apartment thinking it would be so weird and gloomy to have a dining table in a corner.
BUT what two things make a room look bigger? WINDOWS and MIRRORS! Well, one thing you can purchase and one you can not.... or can you?! I found this great arch frame at Pier One Imports to give the feel of a window! It's also the first thing you see when you enter the front door down a "long" hallway.
I decided not to buy one large mirror to go above the table because I have the fabulous Anthropologie Home Mirror (see previous post here) hanging over my fireplace (yes I got lucky enough to find an apartment with a fireplace - that's what you get if you move UPTOWN! The collage of smaller mirrors ended up being such a statement and I have got so many compliments on it! I can always add to them if needed. Most of these are a mixture of H&M Home, Home Goods and Anthropolgie Home. Each under $50!
Next job - find a great RUG for this area!
